Lesson 1 - Introduction
The course focuses and in an easy readable style on the basic laws, music examples and contemplations etc. all gathered from 30 years of experience in using music as a cornerstone in group work. No matter how much theory you know, music will only be magic if you have affinity – knowing and openness of the “message” in the music

Music operates within a certain range of frequencies a certain level of consciousness; it has a message.
A piece of music will, by the law of resonance, bring us to its level of consciousness.
If the level the music operates on is above where we are, the music will tend to lift us.

If the music is below where we are, it will tend to drag us down.

To make a fantasy-journey effective, the receiver must be in the right mood, a relaxed, open state, without too much head stuff going on. This can be achieved by the right timing of the exercise, by playing adequate music (and sometimes by not playing any music!

Use music to grow, to take the next step, not to fascinate.
In the context of aura and chakras, it means that we do not focus on music
as means to see the aura, but as means to be in the aura. Music is a powerful aid to expand the awareness into the aura, but it is difficult to generalise, the effect of the music depends on the attitude and general openness of the listeners, their spiritual beliefs and so on.

Grof writes:Good music seems to be of particular value in nonordinary states of consciousness, where it has several functions. It helps to mobilize old emotions and make them available for expression, intensifies and deepens the process, and provides a meaningful context for the experience. The continuous flow of music creates a carrying wave that helps the subject move through difficult experiences and impasses, overcome psychological defences, surrender, and let go.
